Keith Williams

KWBANNER

KeithWilliams2Keith Williams may be a newcomer to the national music scene, but he is not new to the music industry. A former worship leader and now a seasoned record executive, Willams is positioning himself to be a name that will stand alone in the very near future.

Growing up in Silver Springs, MD with his twin brother, older sister and another set of younger twin brothers, Williams’ formative years were filled with music from the time he could remember. His father was a computer specialist, while his mother worked for the federal government and was also the church organist for over 20 years, where his profound love for music was birthed. Soon thereafter, Keith started playing piano at the age of seven and by eleven; he was the salaried choir director for the Ebony Gospel Choir at The Jerusalem Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Rockville, MD.

After graduating from high school and attending Howard University, Williams obtained his degree in piano performance and went on to work at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Ft. Washington, MD, where he first met his now music collaborator and business partner, Earnest PughKeith eventually transitioned to the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA, where Martin Luther King, Jr. once served as assistant pastor, as well as, worked with legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Holliday and Patti LaBelle.

In 2012, Williams stepped down from his position in Atlanta to take on a more permanent role as A&R Director for Earnest Pugh’s label EPM Music Group, where he now serves as label President.

Just a year later, Keith released his first national project “Tone For Worship,” which debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top Gospel Album charts. “Tone For Worship” became the highest CD chart debut of any new solo male gospel artist during its release.

Williams currently keeps an extremely busy schedule handling executive duties at the thriving label, in addition to, maintaining his budding solo career and serving as Director of Worship & Arts at the Lighthouse Church in Houston, TX where Keion Henderson serves as Senior Pastor.
